Having a baby should be a positive, satisfying and life-changing experience, but too often parents end up being disappointed or even traumatised by the birth.  Having the support of a Doula can make such a positive difference to your birth experience.

I have trained as both a Birth Doula and Postnatal Doula, and so can support you during your pregnancy, during the birth, and during those tiring first weeks at home with your new baby.

As a Birth Doula I will provide you with -

• a first meeting when we discuss your needs, preferences and get to know each other.
• two meetings before the birth.
• telephone and email support whenever needed.
• being on call 24 hours a day from 38 weeks until you have your baby.
• support throughout your birth - however long or short!
• one postnatal visit.

Studies have shown that women supported during labour by a Doula can achieve -

• shorter labour
• half the Caesarean rate
• fewer epidural requests
• less need for pain relief
• fewer forceps deliveries
